This presentation showcases an exploration-in-progress of the multimedial work by Dominicanyork artist and poet Josefina Báez, and Chilean poet and artist Cecilia Vicuña. Throughout their production, both artists synthesize and address key issues within Afro-Dominicanness, Mapuche identity, environmentalism or transnationalism. In particular, this work seeks to examine their respective theoretical approaches to performance and the poetic form, paying special attention to the decolonial methodologies that Báez and Vicuña envision and embody.
